Short for Quantum Pigeon, creators can start a free or paid channel and receive tips or charge monthly subscriptions for access to content.

The startup’s founder and CEO Alex Clark previously sold his industrial internet of things company Bit Stew Systems to General Electric in 2016.

“Some people said to me ‘Why did you go from IoT to social media [and] consumer?’” Clark told The Information.

“But the infrastructure and the architecture is basically identical.” He said Bit Stew previously processed billions of messages a day. “The same is true with social media and messaging...But instead of machines communicating, it’s people.”
